Powell Town’s 2026 Annual Fundraising and Honorary Membership Drive
 

Powell Town VFD has started its 2026 Annual Fundraising and Honorary Membership Drive.  Letters from Powell Town volunteers will be arriving in everyone’s mailboxes over the next few weeks, and donating is easy:

Powell Town VFD is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity, so donations are generally tax deductible.  Starting in 2026 the tax laws changed so that even individuals and couples who do not itemize their deductions can still claim up to an additional $1,000 ($2,000 for married couples) for qualifying charitable cash contributions on top off the standard exemptions/deductions amount.  

All donations are greatly appreciated and will be used to cover the department’s operational expenses.  Donations are also used to help with the purchase of new equipment where possible as well.  For instance, donations in 2025 made it possible for Powell Town VFD to acquire a new water tanker, new slip-on skid units, and extrication tools.  Looking ahead, volunteers will be working over the next three-year planning cycle to add additional tools and to replace the department’s oldest brush truck that is well past its useful life.  Powell Town’s volunteers will need continuing strong support to make this happen for our community.
